New Age Tarot

In order to reach a better understanding of the Tarot, each single card needs to be studied carefully. Although I have been involved with this fortune-telling game from an early age, I shall certainly continue to discover new things and I shall never be able to say that I know all that there is to be known about the Tarot. Within the context of this brochure it is thus only possible to give an approximate description of the Tarot and its meaning. However, there are many good books on the subject easily available to the interested reader.

Already as a boy, among the Rom gipsies in the Swiss countryside around Berne, I was shown my first Tarot cards. Later I met the ethnologist and writer, Sergius Golowin, and it was he who introduced me to the hidden meaning of the Tarot, revealing to me many of its secrets. During our numerous journeys through Europe as well as on our visits to the then still picturesque taverns of Basle, Berne and Zurich, we met many brothers and sisters with whom we discussed the history of the Tarot. They were all still familiar with fragments of the great traditions of the various Gipsy tribes, and many of the ancient signs and symbols pertaining to the Tarot still influence their view ofthe world. lt is also an advantage to discuss interpretations with other Tarot specialists so as to widen one's own knowledge of the subject.
