The tarot can be seen as a system where in the phases of development of life are represented by images that represent the coming into existence and the development of man in his possibilities, and the use of different powers for the manifestation of these possibilities. In the Terrestrial Tarot deck, these different forces are represented in their own nature, as aspects and stages of power itself. The cards are designed to evoke these magical forces in a very direct way. The images are symmetrical for reasons of focusing. The best way of looking at them is to look at the whole image. Then it works as a focusing device to the power in that image.

A unique feature of this deck is the use of phase-cards. The phase-cards enable us to focus our attention in a more specific way on the process of manifestation. The phase-cards are to be used in combination with the usual way of reading tarot cards. We suggest laying out the four phase-cards at the same time, so the different element-phases appear together. By using intuitive insight, the right phase can be chosen. When you have a neutral and direct intuitive insight, you can just lay out one of the four phase-cards. Be well attuned to the cards. The choice of phase-card is always in addition to the other cards; they are a further specification of them.
