Warrior-King of Shambhala

This book attempts to offer a peep-hole glimpse into the vast and inconceivable mind of a great mahasiddha, a being of great spiritual accomplishment, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

This project really began at Rinpoche's cremation, in 1987, when groups of us would sit around and tell stories of being with him. I thought to myself then that "somebody" should write all this down. My own effort began in 1990, but all of it was still too dose and too personal - and I did not get very far. Over the years I occasionally gave talks on "The Life of Trungpa Rinpoche" or, as I would insist, my life with Trungpa Rinpoche - because, after all, who could speak of the life?
