Index of C. Conti Rossini's "Storia d'Etiopia"

Every éthiopisant has had reason to lament the absence of an index from Conti Rossini's great masterpiece. The following is an attempt to remedy this deficiency. I had begun the work some years ago, but other commitments forced me to abandon it. My secretary, Mrs. Ann Kelly, has now brought it to a successful conclusion. Her work was made difficult by many variant spellings of the same word in different parts of the book (and sometimes even on the same page) and by the prodigious number of names and other material to be included in the index.

In consigning this work to the printers I should like it to be dedicated to the memory of Carlo Conti Rossini, the great master of Ethiopian studies.
